Wine Standards
 |
SAWLA is introducing the use of Wine Standards
in South Africa, so that our wine industry can
regain its former position in the international
market, using an indisputable scientific approach.
To avoid discrepancies in the results obtained
from different laboratories, incontestable wine
standards can be used to ensure you produce reliable
and accurate results. |
Our company is currently supplying wine standards developed
in France and used in Europe. Made to Certification
ISO 9001: 2000 standards and providing both, a reference
to calibrate apparatus and to assess and control methods
of measurement.
The calibration reference
-
AA supplies a range of ordinate values for the
7 most common parameters to calibrate the response
patterns of automatic equipment. (1 box = 20 x 10ml
ampoules)
-
IR is a calibration range (ascending alcohol,
descending sugar) designed to measure the reducing
sugars/alcohols pair by infrared reflectance in
fermenting wines.
The control reference
-
BTA addresses 15 parameters. Used every 10 samples
of wine analysed. If a deviation in the value measured
is observed over time then corrective action is
called for. (1 box = 20 x 10ml ampoules)
-
BTB is designed for controlling manual analyses.
15 parameters can be accurately obtained. (1 box
= 6 x 250ml bottles)
Total Acidity (TA) and Volatile Acidity
(VA) values are based on g dH2SO4/L
BTB values are also derive in meq/L
